Valmont Ranked as One of America's Greenest Companies

“It's a great honor to be acknowledged by Newsweek for our continued focus on sustainability,“ said Avner Applbaum, Valmont President and Chief Executive Officer. “For nearly 80 years, our purpose has been clear: to conserve resources and improve life. It's not just about fulfilling obligations; it's about doing what's right.“

Newsweek evaluated and scored the companies on more than 25 parameters based on the following four categories: greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, water usage, waste generation and sustainability data disclosure and commitments.

Valmont is on track to deliver on all our 2025 Sustainability Goals and, in many cases, already surpassing them. Here's where we currently stand.

• Goal: 10% reduction in carbon emissions per million in revenue.
• To Date: 43% reduction in normalized emissions from manufacturing facilities.

• Goal: 12% additional reduction in normalized electricity usage.
• To Date: 43% reduction in normalized electricity usage.

• Goal: 19% reduction in global combustion fuel mobile source emissions.
• To Date: 27% reduction in global combustion fuel mobile source emissions.

• Goal: 100% usage of low-flow water fixtures in non-production areas.
• To Date: 56% of areas using low-flow water fixtures in non-production areas.

The America's Greenest Companies 2024 ranking is based on research and analysis of publicly available sustainability data (as of July 31, 2023) of the top 952 U.S. organizations that meet the European Union's sustainability standards and have a minimum market capitalization of $5 billion. To create the list, Newsweek partnered with market data research firm Plant-A Insights and GIST Impact, a leading impact data and analytics provider.
